Massy Motors hosted and open house and test drive event at their Hyundai showroom for the public to come down and get a hand on first hand experience with the all-new Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid. This all-new aerodynamic hybrid simply looks awesome and is packed with lots of great features. It’s the first gasoline/hybrid electric in its class and comes in at an amazing starting price of $169,900 as it is exempt from V.A.T, MVT and Customs and Duty charges due to its small displacement gasoline engine and hybrid electric motor. The fully loaded Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid is $209,950.
Both come packed with lots of really high tech features out of the box, with the only main difference between the two are heated/ventilated leather front seats with memory settings, sunroof and thing like blind spot detection, auto defogging windows, rain sensors and HID’s.
Some of the standard features are 7 airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, electronic power assisted steering, auto lights, DRL’s, automatic cruise control, lots of storage and charging ports, smart keyless entry and push button start.
Even though the all-new Ioniq Hybrid is the talk of the town, it’s absolutely silent when you start it up. The Ioniq Hybrid is powered by a 105hp 1.6L GDI gasoline engine mated to a PMSM (permanent magnet synchronous motor) that generates 32kw of power and 170 Nm of torque. The combined 270 Nm of torque is put down to the ground via Hyundai’s dual clutch transmission (DCT) which makes driving engaging and a pleasure.
